Umbro x Deportivo Buenas Vibras

Participation Trophy Studio had the pleasure of teaming up with our friends at Deportivo Buenas Vibras to design and produce custom Umbro uniforms for their participation in Season 4 of Rum Beer and Football League.

Story of The Collab

This project started way back in early December when approached by Seabastian (Founder of Deportivo Buenas Vibras) about the opportunity to design jerseys for the team's upcoming season. After discussing the opportunity, we started to explore and mock-up potential designs. That design process had several rounds of tweaks and edits that spanned about 4 weeks from initial designs to final design seen on field.

Once we settled on a final design, we placed orders by mid-January to assemble all the materials required such as jerseys, shorts, socks, club badges, vinyls, and our collab patches. By February our mix of stock and custom materials had all been delivered and we started to deconstruct, cut, sew, and heat press everything together. The production process took about 3 weeks of lead time to have everything ready for the season kickoff.

In total we produced 10 full kits (custom jerseys, shorts, and socks) for players and 5 custom jerseys for friends, family, and sponsors. To bring that to life we needed 15 white jerseys, 15 green jerseys, 2 orange jerseys, 10 green shorts, 10 orange shorts, 10 pairs of green socks, and 10 pairs of orange socks.

Behind-The-Scenes: Making of A DBV Jersey

We designed and produced custom Umbro uniforms but curious what that really means? Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the project highlighting the various fabric cutting, sewing, vinyl cutting, and heat pressing steps required to turn standard Umbro teamwear into a fully custom jersey.
